The USA’s Best National Parks

America’s national parks offer astounding scenery and potential to be outdoors in a variety of different settings. Whether you are in love with exploring nature or just want some scenery, you can find just about anything. Below are a few of the best ones you should visit.

Yosemite

As one of the most popular national parks to visit, Yosemite offers rock climbing and alpine hiking routes. The sticky granite mountains, rivers, and beautiful waterfalls make this national park specifically beautiful.

Sequoia

Sequoia National Park is famous for containing the biggest trees in the world – the Sequoia tree. Standing at the base of one of these trees leaves one at a loss for words.

Grand Canyon

This national park is filled with history. There is an abundance of evidence of previous Native Americans who once occupied the area. The red rock takes up a majority of the area, with the Colorado River running through the centre.

Yellowstone

Yellowstone’s landscapes have been changed by geothermal activity. It sits on top of a “super-volcano” and contains bubbling sulphuric hot pools which millions of people come to admire every year.

Mammoth Caves

Mammoth Caves is the longest system of caves to be discovered so far and about 400 miles have been officially explored and mapped. The caves are limestone, making it feel as if you are on another planet when inside.

Everglades

This national park is a World Heritage Site. Its untouched swamps contain alligators and poisonous snakes as well as interesting insects and flowers, making it the perfect destination for those who love nature.

Dry Tortugas

Situated at the bottom of the Florida Keys, this destination offers some of the best snorkelling and scuba diving in the USA. The tropical turquoise waters are teeming with life from turtles to sharks.

Hawaii Volcanoes

This national park is exactly what the name entails. A staggering landscape of hot steam vents, rivers of lava, and an incredible coastline to admire.

Denali

Denali National Park is one of Alaska’s most popular. The 6-million-acre park holds potential for many outdoor activities and will keep you busy for a long time. The area gives you a feeling of remoteness which you may not feel at some of the other national parks.

Kenai Fjords

If you want to visit a park that is filled with magnificent ice, glaciers and clear lakes, then this is the one to visit. There is also an abundance of wildlife which includes wales and eagles for you to possibly see so if you go to Kenai Fjords, keep your eyes open for those animals.

When travelling to the USA, you have a large variety of options when it comes to National Parks. From mountains to volcanoes to glaciers, America has it all. If you only visit for a short time, try to connect with one or two places rather than doing too much. That way, you can truly appreciate what is on offer.
