Be like Rocky

The steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art are where the famous character “Rocky” ran up in the 1976 film. If you are a fan of the movie and want to get some great imitation shots, this is the perfect place for you. There is also a Rocky statue that you can get pictures with.

Philly Cheesesteak

Philadelphia is well-known for its famous cheesesteaks. You can’t stay in the city and not give one a try. There are many places you can go to, to try what is considered the best in Philly, but if you want an iconic experience, you can visit the corner of 9th Street and Passyunk Avenue where  Geno’s Steaks and Pat’s King of Steaks are situated.

The Birthplace of America

There are many historical attractions to visit in Philadelphia, but none can match the birthplace of America – Independence Hall. This is where the Declaration of Independence was signed and where the framework for the U.S. Constitution was created. You can get free tours, but you will need to book in advance because spots fill up quickly.

Reading Terminal Market

Reading Terminal Market is set under an old railroad terminal and is 125 years old. The market offers fresh produce as well as many restaurants and seating for you to just sit and take in your surroundings.

Visit City Hall

City Hall is the largest municipal building, taking up 14.5 acres and containing more than 250 sculptures around the exterior. You can take a tour of the interior or just a 15-minute tower tour. Either way, you will get a chance to see the 37-foot-tall, 27-ton bronze statue of William Penn.

Take a walk along the waterfront

The Delaware River waterfront is one of the most vibrant places in Philadelphia. There is a lot to see and plenty of activities to take part in. There are attractions and parks to visit as well as seasonal areas that can be very fun if you visit during the times of the year that they are open.

Depending on how long you visit Philadelphia for, you may have to choose your activities sparingly.
